Event Details
JULY 27th Sydney Symposium
25/07/2010 - Event happened 44 days ago.
12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM
It's 3.23 in the morning
and I am awake
because my great great grandchildren
ask me in dreams
what did you do when the planet was plundered?
what did you do when the earth was unravelling?
surely you did something
when the seasons started failing?
as the mamals, reptiles, birds were all dying?
did you fill the streets with protest
when democracy was stolen?
what did you do
once
you
knew?

The reality is that we will see the decimation of much of what we have known as civilisation before the end of our lives. Already the survival of human beings is being threatened by many factors much of which we are relatively ignorant about. If we continue to let this state of affairs persist, we will surely precipitate ourselves into a nightmare that is beyond our current comprehension.
What I would like to enrol you in is the possibility that we could change the ineveitability of this course of history. Bringing intelligent people together in a powerful conversation that calls on our collective courage and capacity to engage each other lovingly, is to us the cornerstone of creating a new possibility for plant Earth. What do you think? Would you like to find out more?
Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream (http://awakeningthedreamer.org/) is a groundbreaking symposium that brings people together in an inspiring and powerful conversation. Over 3-4 hours, participants get to explore the questions that we do not ask, in a comfortable and non-threatening manner and then engage in creating their individula contribution to reshaping human future.
This is a conversation that we will run on the last Sunday of each month at the same venue in Sydney.
The workshop will explore 4 questions:
1. Where are we as a species upon this planet?
2. How did we get here?
3. What is possible for the future?
4. Where do we go from here?
Through dynamic group interactions, leading edge information, and inspiring multimedia, participants are able to reconnect with their deep concern for our world, and are empowered to make a difference.
Together we can accelerate the emergence of a new global future:
An Environmentally Sustainable, Spiritually Fulfilling and Socially Just Human Presence on Eartht.
Now wouldn't this be a Sunday afternoon well spent?
